SID/NIME 2011 in Oslo

My Talking Machine kII will has been shown in Oslo, Norway, at the SID Exhibition, part of the NIME 2011 Oslo Conference on New Interfaces for Musical Expression. The conference has taken place from 30.May to 1.June. The SID Exhibition at the Norsk Teknisk Museum will launch on 29th May and will run for 3 months.

The SID Exhibition and the NIME conference has been a great success (be sure to check out the links below to find some more information about the exhibition itself and the other exhibitors and now I’ll finally have found the time to update this post with some pictures from the Exhibition:

The Museum also has some interesting pieces in their collection. I was a bit surprised to find one of the first iPods there, but when I thought again, they are quite old in terms of the history of gadget-technology. Funny though, how big and lumbering it seems:

Also, Oslo is such a great city and definitely recommendable for a visit. I’ve enjoyed my stay very much and am sure to return.

As a sidenote: Due to my talking machine, I travelled by train from Nürnberg via Kopenhagen and Stockholm to Oslo. I was 24 hrs on the road and it was a really nice travel. The most impressive part though was when the German high speed train ICE drove on the street straight into a ferry. That was kind of awesome. Sorry for the blurry picture, that’s when we drove into the ship:

ah… and the NIME concert was great as well, we saw an impressive performance from the LOLC:
