The “Vorkurse” at the Bauhaus taught objective design roules and subjective intuition. Although this happened nearly 100 years ago, these roules are still valid: point, line, area, form, colour, contrast, dynamics, rhythm, gravity, fonts, patterns, symbols, signs…

In wintersemester 2008/09, I will run a workshop for students of all designing study programmes at the Bauhaus-University Weimar. Besides the communication of basics and tutorials from the Bauhaus precourses (Johannes Itten, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, Josef Albers), later views (Adrian Frutiger) will be presented as well.

An elementary course for students of all design oriented study programmes.
